Staff and Board
Furthering access to education for the new generation
Our Staff
Tempo is run by a diverse group of people who have decades of experience in eduction, specifically with Montessori.
Tempo’s Executive Director
Diane Beckham
Diane introduced Montessori to the Tulsa area. She has over 30 years experience in public education and launched the only public Montessori in the state of Oklahoma in collaboration with Tulsa Public Schools.
In her career, she has initiated Cross Timbers Montessori Training (National-International Accreditation), and led the launch of 3 public Montessori schools across the country in 5 years. She also holds certifications for Montessori EC, EC – elementary education, Elementary administration, and superintendent.
Meet our Board
Our Board of Directors brings together a vibrant tapestry of Oklahomans from local business leaders and lifelong educators to passionate parents and advocates united by the mission of ensuring that children in Oklahoma have access to a high-quality, tuition-free Montessori education.

Deborah Helms
Deborah has spent over twenty years working at the intersection of education and organizational change at the local, state, and national levels. She served New York City public schools as a classroom teacher and assistant principal for over a decade, led standards and assessment work for Career and Technical Education programs statewide in Arizona, and is currently a Partner in National Consulting at TNTP. She holds Masters degrees in Secondary Literacy and Educational Leadership and brings deep expertise in curriculum, instruction, and the systems-level work of building strong schools. A parent of four, she knows every child deserves a learning environment that sees and responds to them as individuals. As Board President, she brings a systems thinker’s eye and a practitioner’s heart to the work of building the Tempo community with intention.

Marc LaManque
Marc is a startup fanatic. Since starting his career he has worked on 3 different startups, one of which he founded himself. He currently serves as the Director of Operations at Shatterbox, a local e-learning startup in Tulsa. He views himself as a Swiss Army knife who loves the rush of building something from nothing and solving other people’s problems. Outside of Shatterbox, you’ll find him nerding out about food, doing hot yoga, playing the piano, and hanging with his wife and dog, Boston.

Caroline is a staff attorney with the Office of Legal Counsel for the Board of Regents for the Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical Colleges. Caroline attended Augustana University for her undergraduate studies then went on to receive her juris doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law. As a board member, Loretta brings a passion for life long learning and a desire to make academic excellence accessible to the community. Her roots in Montessori, business operational mind, and heart for people will assist in building the board, school, and community around Tempo Montessori.

Lisa Goldfarb
Lisa has dedicated her life to education, art, and the pursuit of lifelong learning. For 35 years, she had the privilege of teaching children ages three through nine at Undercroft Montessori.
In addition to her classroom experience, she spent 16 years as a Practicum Advisor, Field Consultant, and Residential Instructor at the Center for Guided Montessori Studies, helping prepare future Montessori educators.
Lisa is retired from teaching, but continues to explore the world with the same sense of curiosity that guided her throughout her career, spending time creating handbuilt ceramic work and volunteering in the Oklahoma State University Paleontology Laboratory.
Fostering curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.
